Oral Hygiene

Cleanings & Prevention

Dentistry is all about preventing dental problems and toothaches from happening. Methods to prevent dental cavities, infections, and periodontal (gum) disease are:

  • Brushing with a soft-bristled toothbrush (manual or electronic) for two minutes in the morning after breakfast and at night before bed.
  • Flossing once per day, allowing the floss to pass under the gum (as comfort allows!) to remove plaque buildup.
  • Seeing your friendly Dentist (us!) regularly every six months for dental x-rays, an oral evaluation which includes cancer screening, and cleaning.
  • Recommended non-invasive dental treatments such as: Sealants and Fluoride Therapy.

Cleanings and preventive methods are important to maintaining good oral hygiene.
